In the Stars November 21-28, 2021...shining light on the astrology of the week
The Sun is now in the enthusiastic sign of Sagittarius tropically. We are ready for the sparkling holiday season ahead. Thanksgiving will be a joyful day on Thursday, infused with the playfulness and creativity of the Leo Moon.
A partial Lunar Eclipse occurred on November 19, to be followed by a total Solar Eclipse December 3-4. Eclipses can trigger powerful events, either positive or difficult. These two weeks ahead between the eclipses may be intense. Keep things simple and get plenty of rest. If we were not in the midst of the two eclipses, the energy of the coming week would be lighter and easier than it has been for some time, and than it will be in December. Neptune is slowing down to turn direct on December 1, casting inspiration, imagination, and vision over our lives. Fueled by a Mars trine to Neptune, we feel strength and passion in our ideals.
Ongoing the skies hold the tense energy of the Eris-Pluto square, and the Saturn-Uranus square which will reach its third exact aspect December 24th. We live in a time of rapid change and amazing possibilities. The movement of the planets invite us into a dynamic engagement with opportunity and change.

Enjoy an easy Sunday with the Gemini Moon in a benefic trine to buoyant Jupiter. The Sun ingresses into Sagittarius. The Moon is void of course all day from 7:52 a.m. to 7:33 p.m. PST. Connect with a sibling, take a short trip, or take the day off to read a good book.
Monday may be a gloomy, moody day. The Moon is in sensitive Cancer, and in a testy square to Chiron, the planet symbolizing wounding and healing. An opportune Moon-Uranus sextile can help us shake it off and find new solutions.
Tuesday is a day of mixed energies starting with a benefic lunar trine to Mars. We feel energized to work on what we feel passionate about. The Sun conjuncts the South Node, highlighting old patterns, and perhaps connecting us with people in our past. A Moon-Neptune trine is forgiving and allows thing to flow, helpful in the face of the Moon’s confrontation with Eris and Pluto which could be petulant and testy.
We are uplifted on Wednesday as both Mercury and the Moon move out of brooding water signs into uplifting fire signs Sagittarius and Leo respectively, and form a harmonious trine. The Moon trines the Sun as well, making for an upbeat, easy day.
Thanksgiving on Thursday is buoyed by the enthusiastic, playful Leo Moon. The day begins with the Moon highlighting the ongoing Saturn-Uranus square, prompting new ways of doing things. Play family games, and make it fun. A testy Moon-Mars square in the evening may bring out the grumpies, so try not to spoil an otherwise good day. Instead, lean in and clean up after the day’s festivities. I’ll be spending Thanksgiving in Ibiza, a small island off the south of Spain. My daughter and I will be visiting friends who live there, and also visiting friends and family in Germany before and after.
Black Friday is not a good day for shopping, as the Moon in void of course all day from 8:23 a.m. to 6:11 p.m. PST. When the Moon is void we often don’t make the best decisions, and later wish we had done something different. With the Moon in Leo making bold aspects throughout the day, it is a good day for a family hike or some vigorous recreation. At 6:11 p.m. PST the Moon enters Virgo, ushering in a weekend for cleaning up and getting organized for Christmas, Hanukah, and other holidays ahead.
Saturday and Sunday are industrious days for getting things in order. Put up your holiday lights and tree and get organized for the season. The Virgo Moon makes a harmonious trine to Uranus on Saturday, perhaps putting a twist in your day. Sunday you will be inspired to decorate your home. With the fuel of the Moon-Pluto trine, you can get a lot accomplished.
The Libra Moon’s grace and beauty is supported by numerous harmonious aspects. Now that your home has been cleaned and organized from the weekend’s Virgo Moon, you can uplift it with more beauty and sparkle in the lunar light of Libra. Mercury (in Sagittarius) makes benefic aspects to Chiron (in Aries) and Saturn (in Aquarius) in the evening, inviting expansive, innovative, excited conversations.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
