In the Stars May 28-June 4, 2023 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

The Sun continues to shine in Gemini tropically, symbolizing curiosity and discovery, short distance travel, and learning new skills, languages, and facts. This zodiacal month invites us to explore our cities, counties, and nearby surroundings. It calls us to learn something new, engage in generative conversations, and reach out to siblings.

Jupiter conjuncts the North Node (True position) on Thursday (Jupiter's Day), June 1. Jupiter's conjunction with the Mean Node was May 27th. This conjunction occurs once every seven years. Jupiter is the Great Benefic, planet of the wise teacher, blessings and good fortune. Jupiter is the largest planet, symbolizing expansion. The North Node, a point having to do with the intersection of the orbits of the Sun and Moon, points toward our soul growth or purpose. This special conjunction highlights destiny, personal evolution, and soul growth. The Sabian Symbol for the Mean Node/Jupiter conjunction (3 Taurus) is "Natural Steps Up to a Lawn Blooming with Clover.." The Sabian Symbol for the True Node/Jupiter conjunction (4 Taurus) is "The Pot of Gold at the End of the Rainbow." Both of these symbols have to do with good fortune. This conjunction invites us to enlarge our vision of what is possible, and to be hopeful. It encourages us to activate our creative imagination, to recognize the treasure that is within us, to appreciate and join with life's bounty, and to honor our evolutionary journey. This week be intentional about appreciating your talents, gifts, and achievements, and dream big.

This week holds a Full Moon on Saturday, June 3. This lunation highlights community and connection.

Saturday and Sunday, May 27-28, are days for putting your life in order, framed by the Virgo Moon. On Saturday the Moon squares the Sun and opposes Saturn, forming a T-square that demands attention to responsibilities. A Moon-Uranus trine on Sunday loosens the tension, and we may find unusual, intuitive ways of handling the load of chores to be done. This weekend is not one for play and relaxing, but rather for addressing work that needs to be done.

Monday's (May 29) focus is on relationships. The Libra Moon makes benefic aspects to Pluto and Mars, fueling transformative conversations and personal connections. A Moon-Sun trine in the evening offers favorable outcomes.

Tuesday, May 30, is blessed with the grace and refinement of Libra, with the focus still on relationships and social activities. A Moon-Chiron opposition may focus attention on working out hurt feelings..

Wednesday, May 31, may be a dramatic, disruptive day as a result of several testy aspects: Eris square to Venus and the Moon, and later in the day Moon square Pluto, and Moon opposite Jupiter. Emotions intensify and are exaggerated. Keep your cool and take one step at a time when meeting challenges. At the same time, these testy aspects are fuel for getting big things accomplished.

Thursday’s highlight this first day of June is Jupiter conjunct the North Node. Symbolically this alignment shines light on evolutionary progress. This is a day to aim for the stars and honor our soul growth, and expand our goals and dreams. The Moon and Saturn form a benefic trine, enabling us to ride and manage our our emotions.

Expect the unexpected on Friday, June 2, with the Scorpio Moon opposing Uranus. The Moon forms a Grand Water Trine with Venus and Neptune, deepening intimacy and heightening imagination. Friday is Venus’ Day. Crowned with the Grand Trine of love planets, this day boost romance and relationships.

Saturday, June 3, boasts a Full Moon in Sagittarius. This lunation has a mix of alignments. Saturn squares the Moon, adding restraint and resistance. On the other hand, Mars trines the Moon, boosting energy and encouraging expansion and action. The best of both aspects is measured action, or calculated risk. Take this weekend day to invigorate yourself in the outdoors.

Sunday, June 4, is a brilliant day with Mercury and Uranus conjunct. Our minds are filled with expansive ideas. This would be a great day to gather with interesting friends for dinner and conversation; the Sagittarius Moon loves a party! Pay attention to your intuitive thoughts.

The work week begins on a serious note Monday, June 5, with the Moon in hard-working Capricorn. Venus moves into playful, creative Leo and opposes Pluto, focusing on powerful relationship issues. The Moon-Jupiter trine gives blessings on the day, and encourages expansive thinking. A benefic Moon-Saturn sextile fosters attention on responsibilities, with flow.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
