In the Stars March 9-26, 2025 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse March 13/14 at 24 Virgo
Full Moon Lunar Eclipse March 13/14 at 24 Virgo

March is cosmically quite eventful, holding a Solar and Lunar Eclipse, Mars being out-of-bounds, Venus and Mercury turning retrograde, and Neptune moving into Aries.

Mars is now direct in motion, but still out-of-bounds until April 7. When a planet is out-of-bounds it expresses more erratically and aggressively, and in a more exaggerated way. We have seen the rogue, aggressive energy of Mars-out-of-bounds in the recent federal government's actions.

Venus is retrograde through June 7, inviting us to re-assess relationships and values. Venus in Aries encourages action, assertion, and spontaneity.

Mars continues to trine Saturn within a 3-degree orb nearly every day through April 18. This aspect provides focus, precision, and drive. This is excellent energy available for the five weeks ahead to work diligently on a project, such as writing and editing an article or book, learning lines or music for a performance, or organizing and streamlining your work space or computer. Proceed both assertively with determination and carefulness. Aim for mastery and completion.

Mercury will station on March 15, turning retrograde through April 6. Now, before March 15, is the time to wrap up travel plans, contracts, and any details you need to determine and communicate. It would also be good to finish your taxes in the next week, as more clerical and numerical errors are made when Mercury is retrograde.

We are soon entering the first eclipse season of the year.

A Total Lunar Eclipse will occur March 13 at 11:54 p.m. PDT (2:54 a.m. EDT/6:54 GMT) at 23 degrees of Virgo tropically. In this Lunar Eclipse the Sun is conjunct Saturn, opposing the Moon in Virgo. Uranus trines the Moon. This planetary alignment emphasizes visionary, innovative planning. Take a new look at your responsibilities and commitments and consider how you might do them differently and more efficiently. It is best to keep things as simple as possible during an eclipse period and especially eclipse days as the energy is intense. On March 29 a Partial Solar Eclipse will occur at 3:57 a.m. at 9 degrees of Aries. The time in between the two eclipses, March 14-29, is supercharged, so go carefully and stay as chill as possible.

Neptune will enter Aries on March 30th. This a huge shift, and it will mark a significant change in our collective experience.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
