In the Stars March 30, 2025-April 6, 2025 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

Spring is here. The Sun is in the cardinal fire sign Aries until April 19. While the Sun is in Aries we gain confidence, as it is exalted or stronger when it shines in Aries than in all other signs. We are invited to be bold and take calculated risks, and to be more spontaneous.

Today, Saturday, March 29 holds a partial Solar Eclipse at 9 degrees of Aries. This eclipse encourages independence, self-reliance, and leadership. Stand up for strong values. Solar eclipses are New Moons that call for setting intentions.

Venus and Mercury are now retrograde. The Venus retrograde (through June 7) gives an opportunity to consider what we value, and to heal relationship ruptures. Venus backed into Pisces on Thursday, March 27. Intuition is super-charged, and inspiration can be drive creative projects.

During the Mercury retrograde period through April 6, more clerical and numerical errors are made, and mechanical and technological breakdowns occur. Be patient with mix-ups in communication and delays. The week ahead is primed for reviewing, re-thinking, and re-doing.

Mars is now direct in motion, but still out-of-bounds until April 7. When a planet is out-of-bounds it expresses more erratically and aggressively, and in a more exaggerated way. Mars continues to trine Saturn within a 3-degree orb nearly every day through April 18. This aspect provides focus, precision, and drive. This is excellent energy for the next three weeks to work diligently on a project, such as writing and editing an article or book, learning lines or music for a performance, or organizing and streamlining your work space or computer. Proceed both assertively with determination and carefulness. Aim for mastery and completion.

Neptune enters Aries on Sunday, March 30th for a 14-year stay in the first sign the zodiac, except when it retrogrades back into Pisces October 22, 2025-January 27, 2026. This a huge shift, and it will mark a significant change in our collective experience.

This week Saturn in Pisces will exactly sextile Uranus in Taurus.  Sextiles aspects are opportunities to benefit, if the energy is used or activated. This Saturn-Uranus sextile will be at play within 1-3 degrees through February 2026. This would be an excellent time to break bad habits and establish good habits. It is a time for breakthrough and building something new.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
