In the Stars June 2-9, 2024 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

The Sun shines in the mutable air sign Gemini, highlighting travel, communication, curiosity, and learning. The Sun is accompanied by Venus and Jupiter in Gemini, and Mercury joins them on June 3.

A new lunar cycle begins on Thursday, June 6, when the Moon conjuncts the Sun in Gemini. Venus is also conjunct the New Moon, adding sweetness. This will be a social, conversant time; however, the New Moon and Venus are squared by Saturn, thus limitations are imposed.

Mars enters Taurus on Saturday, June 8, and moves into a square aspect with Pluto June 8-12. This alignment contains a hot, aggressive, determined energy that can be used to move forward with projects, but will need to be tempered if it is overheated and becomes volatile. E

exercise calm and reasonableness during this time period if you are activated.

Sunday, June 2, is an extremely active cosmic day. The Moon conjuncts Chiron on Sunday morning, highlighting healing themes and independent thinking. Mars and Eris, two warrior planets, make a hot and fiery conjunction. Be sure to direct this orange, easily over-heated energy toward a positive, demanding aim, and be prepared to cool your temper. Jupiter perfects its trine to Pluto, generating a drive for social change and a better future. This is a strong, positive aspect. If there is anything you want to change or set in motion, this is a good day to get started. In addition, a visionary Mercury-Neptune sextile activates the imagination and intuition. We will be fueled with amazing ideas.

On Monday, June 3, the Taurus Moon squares Pluto, producing strong feelings and perhaps some power struggles. The Moon is exalted in Taurus, giving practical, grounded energy and the ability to get a lot accomplished. We will want to please our senses, as well as take care of matters at hand. Mercury ingresses into its ruling sign, Gemini, where it is strong and curious. A Mercury-Pluto trine enables us to think deeply about matters of concern.

Tuesday, June 4, is a long-winded day, as Mercury conjuncts Jupiter in Gemini, the sign symbolizing communication. The Sun conjuncts Venus, inviting a conversation with a friend. A Moon-Saturn sextile may help slow down the chatter and anchor the heavy dose of flighty energy. A Moon-Uranus conjunction later in the afternoon may offer a break and bring some surprising news.

The Moon joins the party in Gemini on Wednesday, June 5, making it even a more talkative day than yesterday. Ideas and possibilities abound. The Moon trines Pluto in the early morning, framing the day for deep conversations. The Moon is its darkest before tomorrow’s New Moon.

A new lunar cycle begins on Thursday, June 6. The New Moon at 16:17 degrees of Gemini conjuncts Venus and squares Saturn. Relationship issues may need to be addressed. Saturn anchors some of the many ideas that may be flowing through your mind. This is a day for making connections, and having lively, generative conversations. Set goals for communication, travel, and discovery for the lunar month ahead.

A Moon-Neptune square in the early hours of Friday, June 7, may generate visionary dreams before we awaken. The Moon moves into Cancer at 5:40 a.m. PDT, emphasizing caring and compassion. However, Venus squares Saturn, fostering constriction and restraint in personal relationships as well as in money matters.

The restraint of the Venus-Saturn square continues to influence Saturday, June 8, but this aspect helps us focus on tasks that need to be addressed, particularly those on the home front. Mars completes its trip through its ruling sign Aries and moves into Taurus for the next six weeks until July 20. Mars in Taurus engenders more determination and persistence, as well as a stubborn resistance to change.

While anchored in concerns about the well-being of home and family, Sunday, June 9, holds numerous testy, volatile aspects (Sun square Saturn; Moon square Mars; Moon opposite Pluto). An explosive Mars-Pluto square is tightening, perfecting in two days. The difficult energies will be tempered by the communication skills engendered by Mercury’s sextile to the North Node, a Moon-Neptune trine, and a Moon-Jupiter sextile. The Moon moves into buoyant Leo at 12:29 p.m. PDT, and the day ends on a cheerful, optimistic note.

The Mars-Pluto square that perfects early Tuesday morning heats up Monday, June 10, with a fury of aggressive energy.  A Moon-Mercury benefic sextile will help us manage the volatility with mental acumen and sensibility. Keep your cool, and stay mentally balanced.

Moon Void of Course:

This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
