Overview of the Week Ahead:
The New Moon in Capricorn at the end of 2024, on Monday, December 30, invites us to set goals for the new lunar month. If you know where 9 degrees of Capricorn is located in your horoscope, it is a focal point for intentions. If you do not know where it is, think about parts of your life you want to structure, organize, and mature. Where do you want to apply professional, ambitious energy? The New Moon is an "out-of-bounds" Moon through January 1. An out-of- bounds Moon is an exaggerated Moon, so this New Moon is particularly potent.
Chiron stations the next two days, turning direct on December 30. When a planet stations, its symbolism is amplified. Chiron’s symbolism is healing, metaphysics, mentoring, and wholeness. With this station occurring at the end of the year, it is an opportunity for holistic healing. Reach out to a naturopathic, ayurvedic, or alternative healer for a physical tune-up, or schedule a massage. Connect with a mentor if you are in need of some inspiration or advice in some aspect of your life, or be a mentor to someone else.
The Saturn-Jupiter square pulls away from Mercury, leaving the tension between expansion and contraction. This combination could be activated by considering how you can travel on a budget and/or with limited time. Or consider how you can engage in a course of study and expand your knowledge, fitting it into the structure of your life.
The Mars-Pluto opposition continues to tighten toward exactitude on January 2, activated from now through the presidential inauguration. Mars is out-of-bounds for 96 days from January 1 through April 7, exaggerating the fiery, aggressive potential of the red planet. Mars-oppose-Pluto is a dynamic, raging alignment that can have negative consequences if its fury is unleashed. However, it can be harnessed for good to accomplish something demanding, like running a race, doing some heavy lifting, or tackling a challenging project, so lean in and use this energy wisely.
The fiery, explosive plane crash that just occurred in South Korea is symbolized by the Mars-Pluto opposition, and the Moon/Mercury-Saturn-Jupiter T-square.
Venus moves into Pisces, its sign of exaltation, on January 3, ushering in three weeks of greater compassion, sweetness, inspiration, and beauty. This energy is especially welcome in light of the fierce Mars-Pluto energy at play.
Mercury leaves its shadow January 3, and then matters having to do with communication will be clear to move forward. Until then, there still could be some confusion with details, so continue to exercise patience and forgiveness with mistakes through the holiday period.

Moon Void of Course:
This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
