In the Stars April 27-May 4, 2025 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

The Sun now shines in Taurus tropically, and for the next three weeks the focus will be on beauty, pleasure, and growth. Taurus delights in flowers, perfumes, jewels, music, and wealth. Plant flowers and vegetables and water your garden. Tend to your finances and help your money grow.

The New Moon occurs on Sunday, April 27, only a few degrees from the Sun and hooks into the volatile Mars-Sun-Pluto T-square. This New Moon invites big change. Pluto wants to destroy the old and Mars wants to push forward into new territory. The Moon conjuncts Uranus on Monday, April 28. This aspect may bring something new and surprising, perhaps as a result of something churned up by Sunday’s New Moon. Be open to insight and honor your intuition.

Tuesday, April 29, is the annual special day of Akshaya Tritaya, a Vedic holiday. On this day the Sun and Moon are both exalted in the sidereal Vedic system, the Sun being in Aries and the Moon in Taurus. It is known as the Day of Everlasting Achievements. It is a great day for starting new projects, as the benefits will be multiplied. It is also a day for giving to charity, the results of which also will be multiplied. If you have areas of your life in which you struggle or meet obstacles, then give to a charity that is oriented toward that focus. For example, if you have relationship challenges, then give to an organization that helps battered women or that addresses sex trafficking. Be conscious about how you use the opportune, golden energy of Tuesday, to benefit yourself and humanity.

Venus, Saturn, and the North Node are conjunct. Venus wants to move toward pleasure, prosperity, and love. Saturn gives restraint and demands responsibility and hard work. Venus moves ahead of Saturn and enters Aries on Wednesday, April 30. Restricting constraints will ease and you will be buoyed with zest for vigorous engagements, fun, and more risk taking.

Friday, May 2, Venus conjuncts Neptune. This is a visionary day, and one that compels artistic expression. Pick up your paintbrush or musical instrument; create and inspire!

Neptune entered Aries on Sunday, March 30th for a 14-year stay in the first sign the zodiac, except when it retrogrades back into Pisces October 22, 2025-January 27, 2026.

Pluto is slowing down, turning retrograde May 4. When a planet moves toward its station to turn direction, its energy amplifies. With Mars in opposition to Pluto, this week ahead promises to be active and engaging, and perhaps volatile ahead. Move with mindfulness.

Saturn is sextile Uranus. This Saturn-Uranus sextile will be at play within 1-3 degrees through February 2026. This would be an excellent time to break bad habits and establish good habits. It is a time for breakthrough and building something new.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
